.500!

The Rays were 18 games under .500 on June 10th.  They were beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals 1-0 and were 24-42. (24 wins, 42 losses)

Last night, they shut out the New York Yankees 5-0 and are back at the .500 level (an equal number of wins and losses, 61-61.)

A tremendous effort by the home town team to get back from a deep hole, despite the trade of what was our best pitcher, David Price, to the Detroit Tigers.

Can this team make the playoffs? It’s going to be a tough, no doubt. But they got this far, right?

Both the Wild Card and AL East races will be steep mountains to climb. Baltimore is running away with the AL East, and the last Wild Card spot is a log jam with several teams in the running.

Congratulations to Joe Maddon and the gang getting this far!
