Flashback: “Chase” by Giorgio Moroder

If you’re a late night talk radio buff of a certain age, you’d recognize this tune instantly. Or a wrestling fan of the 1980’s, as there was once a tag team called the Midnight Express.

It was much more of a pop culture hit than it was on the pop charts, peaking at #33 in January of 1979 here in the United States. But, as I said, it got a lot of use in other forms of media.

I always thought it’d be the perfect for the start of an auto race, and I can’t imagine it’s hasn’t been done somewhere out there in the 38 years and change this song has been out.

Until tomorrow, bomp-bomp-bomp-bomp, bump-bump-bump-bump…
