Maybe it’s just luck, but I’m getting fewer calls from the scammers from the Asian continent these days, usually coming from India. I think I’ve found an “Achilles heel” in their operation, and it took an older YouTube video to find it.
The process is simple: when you get these calls that start with a pre-recorded message, hit the pound (#) key. Do it over and over repeatedly, as the video above illustrates. Keep hitting pound until you get a busy signal or the “the number has been disconnected” message – that should take 25-30 seconds.
Once that’s done, usually, the scammers leave you alone and will realize it’s not in their best interests to call you. Plus, you won’t have to learn all of those swear words in Hindi.
