The Last Great Debate…In June?

I read recently that 73 percent of the country will watch tonight’s Trump-Biden debate in Atlanta. It will be hosted by CNN but carried by most of the other major media outlets.

It feels so weird to be watching a debate for the presidency on June 27th. I still think there’s a small chance it doesn’t happen – considering Biden’s deteriorating condition, Trump’s long-standing acrimony with CNN, and world events.

There’s also a chance that both candidates get replaced. Trump awaits sentencing in two weeks against a liberal judge likely to show no mercy. A poor showing by Biden and key Democrats will stick the knife in Joe and bring in a neophyte candidate.

If they bring in Michelle Obama, that would add another dimension to the race. Some conspiracists believe “Big Mike” has a smaller Mike. In other words, they think she’s actually a man.

The intangibles favor Biden, as CNN has cooked up rules to work in his favor because, of course, they would. Jake Tapper might cost the network millions in biased coverage allegations, while Dana Bash’s hubby is a CIA man.

It feels so weird, and it feels so unlikely this goes off without a hitch, or hitches. We’ll see.
