The date was January 1, 1987. A talk show host here in the Tampa Bay area named Bob “The Mad Dog” Lassiter took the mic at 7pm that night and offered $50,000 to every caller who called radio station WPLP. Hilarity ensues.
Of course it was all a gag, but it made for an entertaining night of talk radio.
